PEOPLE VOLUNTEERSFor information about becoming a wildlife volunteer contact Kelly kelly@sarveywildlife.orgWe LOVE our volunteers and we are always searching for good people who want to work with us, especially those who fall in love with taking care of wild creatures, and choose to stay for many years.Requirements:Age: No one under the age of 14, no exceptions.Time: We ask that you choose one day of the week to volunteer, and the shifts are as follows, 8am-Noon, Noon-4, 4-8, and in the summertime we have an evening shift from 6pm-10pm.... If you are going to miss days please let us know in advance that way we can schedule around the day(s) you miss. The Work: All of us clean cages, prepare food, share in doing dishes, laundry, making baby formulas, and feeding babies. Those who are very fit and like to be outside may prefer cleaning our outside habitats.see inside and outside volunteer informationThis is a cleaning job, but you get to be with, and handle wild animals and birds, participate in their care, and see them get well and be released. Yes, there are deaths, but we save a remarkable number in all.Taking care of wild creatures is not risk free. We will train you and not ask you to do anything you are not ready and willing to do, but you must also use good judgement every moment you are at Sarvey. All of our patients are wild, not tame, and the goal is to keep them that way.FINANCIAL VOLUNTEERSSarvey is funded totally by donations, no state or federal money at all.We have a large base of occasional donors and a small base of regular donors. Most of these people have had occasion to bring an animal to the Center. The occasional large gift has frequently been the single factor keeping us open. We need any and all types of donations, money and time are the overriding ones.Wish list to follow. From our wild brothers and sisters,Thank you one and all.
