We had a call about this eagle on the ground near a tree. There is an active nest with eaglets there and she was definitely in distress. Our volunteers went to collect her and bring her in for an exam. She was soaking wet, from storms overnight, and quite lethargic. She was given medications, fluids, and lab tests were clear for any lead poisoning. The homeowner was seeing another adult tending to the eaglets, so we knew they were okay. Fortunately, this eagle recovered quickly and was eating everything and clearly ready to leave! We were able to return her to her nest and babies today!! You can see video of her release here.
