Patient Profiles

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. We see over 3,000 patients annually. Over 135 different species come to us for care. In an effort to tell their stories of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we try to share some of their stories here. You can also see posts on our social media pages.

Entangled Owl

This Great Horned Owl was rescued from the Mt Vernon area after she got stuck in netting over a chicken coop. It took a while to cut away all the netting, she really twisted herself all up. There were some lacerations and trauma to her foot, but she is doing much better. Her expressions haven’t changed much - she’s pretty angry about everything. We don’t take it personally.
