Hospitalwarming Happening Now

You've heard of a housewarming? Well, we are throwing ourselves a hospitalwarming. Help us celebrate our new facility being completed and shower our staff and patients with much needed items for the new building. See some the updates below regarding some patients in care and links to our gift registries. Thank you all for making it possible for us to care for these patients for over 44 years.

Group Photo 2 2025

Top row: an orphaned Townsend's Chipmunk is in our baby mammal nursery. He was found in Lake Stevens alone and brought in for care. Bottom left: One of our orphaned fawns after his initial exam by our veterinarian. He was suffering from some minor injuries, but is in good health, eating well and now has a new "sibling". Lower right: An orphaned raccoon sleeping peacefully after his morning feed. We purchase specialized formulas for the different mammal species we care for each spring.

Top Photo: Recently, we shared the story of the 3 Northern Saw-whet owls that fell from their nest when the rotten tree came crashing to the ground. One of our Northern Saw-whet owls suffered a fractured leg, and sadly, the injury compromised blood supply to the limb. Despite our best efforts, the kindest choice was compassionate euthanasia.Shortly after, we received a call about another lone Northern Saw-whet owl needing some "friends" and thanks to our colleagues at Featherhaven, he was safely transferred to our care. And just like that — once again, there were three. Bottom photo: Yes, we even care for snakes! This young Northwestern Garter Snake was injured by a weed trimmer. He is healing and our veterinarian thinks he will recover fully and we can then release him.

GIFT REGISTRIES

This is part Hospitalwarming and part Baby Shower.... we have many items that we need or items we use daily and would appreciate help with stocking our shelves. There is a gift registry with IKEA, our wishlist from Amazon, and our Chewy wishlist. THANK YOU!! We can't wait to host our open house events this fall and share the new space with you all.
