Patient Profiles

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Common Raven

This Raven was brought in after being found on the ground behaving oddly. He was not flying away and was easy to catch/contain. We did not find any serious injuries, so initially were puzzled as to what had happened. Then, we had a call from the presenter and they had learned the raven was seen eating the larvae from a hornet nest. The nest had been sprayed with insecticide by a neighbor. Once the raven showed signs of improvement and was eating well, we moved him to an outdoor enclosure in preparation for release. Status: released
