These orphaned opossums will stay in our care until they are big enough to be released back into the wild.
Each species we care for is very specific in the types of diets, treatments, and rehabilitation needed to prepare them for release.
Often, well intentioned people holding onto and improperly caring for wildlife can do irreparable harm and prolong unseen suffering. The internet is full of "recipes" for making homemade formulas and these only cause problems for the various species we treat. The best thing you can do is to get wildlife patients to us immediately. Keep them in a warm, dark, quiet place in a secure box until transport can occur. We are open every day of the year.
Your local rehabilitation facility will have all the resources to image, test, perform surgeries, offer proper formulas/diets, and enrichment to prepare for release.
