Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Northern Saw-whet owl - this little guy was found in the middle of the road in Arlington last night. Two cars actually drove over it before anyone realized what it was and got out to pick it up. It arrived here this morning and has some mild head trauma. Otherwise, we believe that it is in good condition and it appears to be able to fly. It was likely wind sweep by a passing car and ended up stunned in the roadway. These little owls are often mistaken for babies, but they are actually mature adult owls. Status - released.
