Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

Sick Barn Owl Hits Car

By Sarvey Wildlife / Monday, February 22, 2016 /

This poor little Barn owl is feeling pretty bad. She flew in a car over the weekend (leaving a visible mark on the driver's car) and is being treated for head trauma. She is also exhibiting signs of rodenticide poisoning, and we are treating for that as well. That may have been why she hit the car in the first place.

PLEASE if you have a rodent problem, do NOT use poisons. There are lethal ways to kill rodents that do not impact other animals in the food chain. We hope that she will start to improve and can eventually be released. Status - released.
