- Well not exactly a "baby" anymore, but it was born this season. So, it is about 6 or 7 months old now.
This young eagle was found on the ground severely dehydrated and malnourished. There was a dead adult nearby. She was brought in over the weekend as a transfer patient from Whatcom Humane Wildlife Center up near Bellingham. We will continue the rehab process here and we hope eventually this eagle can join our other juvenile from Lake Stevens in our large eagle flight.
We have another young Bald eagle as well that came in after the 4th of July weekend. It is still recuperating and is being treated for pneumonia. Status: Euthanized. Sadly, after more than a year this young Bald eagle had to be euthanized. The feather condition did not improve and all the newly molted feathers grew in with the same problems and she was unable to fly.
