Patient Updates

Every day new patients arrive at our facility. In an effort to tell their story of survival and highlight the diverse number of species that we rehabilitate, we highlight a new patient each week. Some of these are individuals, others are orphaned siblings. As their cases progress - we will update the outcome - our hope is that many, many of these patients are released!

A Tangled Tail

These four female Eastern gray squirrels were rescued from a tree. They were completely tangled together by their tails. The fur was full of debris from the nest which contributed to the mess. But with a little effort and working quickly we managed to get them separated. They are thin and very dehydrated. One of them lost a bit of her tail at some point. No idea how long they suffered this way, but they are now free to move around independently. They should all be fine after some time in our care and will eventually be released. Status: released
