Beaver Friends - when you are having a rough time, it is always nice to have a friend. We profiled one of these guys a few weeks ago and now we have a second beaver in care. He was found in the road and the presenter thought he'd been hit by a car. They are now sharing a large habitat with a big pool, but they like hanging out together in the crate. Status: One Released.
One Euthanized. Sadly, after two months in care we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize her. She was clearly suffering from some neurological or developmental issues. She was actually afraid of water and would not stay in any tubs or pools. This caused problems with her skin and fur, as she would not groom herself. We had a tough time maintaining her weight and getting her to eat enough. Lab results were inconclusive, she was simply a "failure to thrive" case.
