Well... it has started, babies are arriving. These Eastern gray squirrels were displaced when some trees were removed. The two sisters are now settled into our baby mammal nursery. They are the first of thousands of orphaned patients we will care for this year. Status: One released, one euthanized in care due to abnormal development of teeth and facial structure. This occasionally happens with young squirrels and if their incisors are not properly aligned, they can grow into the skull and nasal cavity.
